MY WAY OF WORKING

I work on the basis of the "Metatheory of Change" (link) and use methods and techniques of Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Therapy and Systems Theory. The theory and practice of change underlying my work aims at one thing in particular: enabling a safe way of dealing with uncertainty - instead of looking for (pseudo-) certainties or "making problems go away". This enables important steps towards a desired change.

First and foremost, I support clients in gaining a realistic, unfiltered view of themselves as well as their environment. In my work with you, I am....

  • Contactful and approachable, but not comfortable
  • Sensible, sensitive and trust-building
  • Humorous and present
  • Compassionate, but not pitying
  • Reflective and confrontational to an appropriate degree
  • A space-leaving and unwavering counterpart.

As a result, I remain relationally stable no matter what concerns you approach me with.

VITA & COMPETENCIES

Of course, you will also find my professional cornerstones here. However, from my point of view, much more important are those experiences that have made me the person I am today - or may be...

I was born and grew up in Munich. My childhood in Nymphenburg, living together with my parents and my sister, close friendships, 13 months of community service in a Protestant church and much more have shaped me. I am rooted in Munich, but have always had the urge to "travel" - literally as well as mentally. Whether in school, during vocational training and studies or in professional situations: What has always fascinated and interested me have been the people behind the issues and the interpersonal relationships.

What opportunities for change arise once you have the courage to get to know your own uncomfortable sides and dysfunctional patterns, I was able to experience during my three-year coaching training as well as through additional accompaniment. Since then, it has also become clear to me: "Good coaching" can only mean being a contactful, curious and sometimes uncomfortable, confrontational counterpart to someone! Coaching must not mean "knowing better" or "being smarter" and must first and foremost be experienced and felt! And real changes seldom or never occur through the mere reading of "smart guidebooks".

I live southwest of Munich in the Würmtal, am married to Stefanie Englberger (Link) and have three children and two dogs.
